CRD Group joins IIU
19th November 2010 • Antonio Saladino, Chairman of the CRD Group of Companies today announced that a joint-venture partnership has been concluded which will ensure continued development on the island of Canouan, St. Vincent & the Grenadines. The new equal partnership has been formed and will embrace the CRD Group and IIU (International Investment and Underwriting), a company founded by Dermot Desmond. Mr. Desmond is Chairman of, and a significant investor in, Sandy Lane Hotel, Barbados.

Mr. Saladino and Mr. Desmond have agreed a revised development plan for Canouan that will see in excess of $100m invested in the island over the next 3 years to include the building of a new boutique ultra-luxury hotel within the 1,200 acres of The Grenadines Estate and the commencement of the Glossy Bay Marina on the southern part of Canouan. Today's announcement follows on from the recent exit of the hotel management company.

Mr. Saladino commented: "Timing is everything, but I was not in a position to confirm my partnership with Dermot Desmond until today. I am delighted that our negotiations have now been concluded and confident that Dermot brings unique business acumen to the Canouan project which will ensure its continued growth and stability."
